This has been such a craaazy season, I feel like everything always comes down to May, between the school year and the changing of seasons, it's just chaos. But amidst all the deadlines and planning, Ry and I made a speedy trip last weekend to Folsom Lake for a camping trip with my family.
My gracious, lovely mom had planned it all out, so all we had to bring was our tent and sleeping bags. This was the first time we got to try out or tent since we got it as a wedding gift.. it's a tent that comes in a pouch and just pops up once you pull it out, a little harder said than done.. but let's say it was an "strengthening" process for our relationship. : )
That whole afternoon we were entertained by the simplest things ~ skipping rocks, flying kites, and lots of panoramic pictures ~ I'll have to post those later, they're pretty sweet.
Food was, as always, a great success, burgers and THAI FOOD for dinner! Gourmet camping for sure, we even had the mortal and pestle to make the papaya salad.
Check out this fun picture of my uncle John and my cousin, Scotty. The boys had made their way over to an island to fish and uncle John stood on the other side for so long, debating how he was going to get over there or if it was worth it..oh decisions.
We even fit in a game of football before it got dark, family trips can be so fun. How lucky we are.
Can't wait to see you on the flip-side.. the big 24. We'll see how I feel.
Na
Dang, I wish I could have gone! Question: do you use immortals to make laap?
