olympics
from here

Watching the Olympics this last week has been a blast. In Tahoe we had quite the nightly gang gathered around the TV hootin' and a hollerin'.. we even had some tears shed over some losses and victories. We truly understand competition-- we resonate with the intensity of it. :)

Before we headed out to Tahoe, we decided to do an Olympic kick-off party at our complex on Opening night. It was a blast.

Minute-to-Win-it Competitions:

Our night was an Olympic success! A lot of people got into the games and trivia, we probably gave out 40 chocolate medals and had a handful of ribbon twirlers fighting outside with their "wands" by the end of the night. I love it!
Then early the next morning we packed up our Dora, and packed up Moki and headed out towards the mountains...

Until hopefully soon, au revoir!
Tahoe pics to come soon.

Friday night we joined a group of 15 people to watch Hugo in our clubhouse. I wasn't sure at first because the movie was moving pretty slowly, but it ended up being a beautiful movie that spoke of redemption, brokenness and purpose.
A simple yet powerful story. Love it. It seemed to please a crowd of young and old as well~ a mom was tearing up with me and a little guy asked to take the movie home. :)

A breakfast for two:
Super filling but yummy with toppings, I'm going to keep experimenting with all the recipes I finding and I'll post my fav.

Ry and I found a new Mexican store nearby! Loved the color and the way it took me back to Ecuador. The lady at the counter sent her son to ask why I was taking pictures, I tried to explain and sounded silly. Silly little blogger.
We waited until the fresh "pan" (baked goodies) came out nice and warm. We'll be back, I'll try not to be so creeper next time. promise.

The DIY project of the Weekend.
Time consuming but worth while.
The before shot looks pretty worn because we were already in cleaning/bleaching/vacuuming process and had taken off the covers. There was good wear on it though. We're excite to now host well with our new hide-a-bed! Stop on by at the Fitz Inn.

We also got to stop by Starbucks for my birthday complementary drink!! Yay! Of course the pig in me got the biggest size of their cookie-chocolate frapp--- the most bang for my buck.. My poor choice found me wide away until 2 am in the morning staring at the ceiling. A nice little birthday gift from Starbucks. ahhaha. It was a good start to my birthday week though. More fun to come!!
Till then, Peace and blessings,

What a full Easter weekend! He has Risen Friends! Yes indeed!

We started our Friday bright and early caring for our lovely community. We got to pass out free coffee, tea and hot chocolate to people driving out of our complex onto their way to work. It was pretty chilly- 38 is what someone told us-- my fingers were pretty frozen, but it's so fun to bless people.. can't complain.

We also got to take a meal to our friends Tara and Dave who just had a beautiful baby. Isn't she gorgeous? She was making all sorts of funny faces.

We had a study break from all our errands.
:)

Saturday I got a surprise package from my sister-in-law with a sweet doughnut pan and egg towel in it!! I love surprises, especially in the form of doughnuts!
So guess what we had for Easter breakfast?

A simple skirt hemming project:
Found this boxy, over-sized skirt on sale for a few bucks, decided to make it a pencil skirt.

So it looks like I'm destroying this guitar. This is actually Alyssa's mom's guitar that's been hanging with us for a few years now. It's been broken the whole while, and I've been needing a clamp to fix it, but today I decided, who needs a clamp when you have a foot. So I "fixed" it. We'll see if it stays.

Our last activity of the day was a Easter dinner with a huge IV crew of maybe 50. It was packed with people and delicious food. The fitzs brought fondue and fruit. Nummers.

He has risen!

May you walk through this week living in the joy that He is alive, in us.
